LARKANA: September 3, 2010. (Nazir Siyal) Three among two women were murdered over the honor killing (Karo Kari) near Ratodero Larkana district on Friday.

According to details, two accused Deedar Ali and Akber Soomro opended indiscriminate fires on Mureed Kosh, who was died on the spot and than accused men gunned down their sister and sister in-law Safia and Sughra respectively over the allegation of Karo Kari here in village Wassayo Bhutto in the limits of Waris Dino Machi Police Station of Ratodero tehsil.

‘Honour killing’: Youth under police protection dies

In a suspected honour killing, a 21-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by his in-laws despite the Punjab and Haryana High Court having directed the Sangrur police to protect the couple.

The police have registered an FIR against the relatives of Manjit Kaur, a resident of Ubbawal village, who had married Raja Ram, a resident of Kutta Khana village, in July.

In a case of attempted honour killing, a man shot at his niece who was riding on a motorcycle with her lover near Hindon Air Force station here Tuesday, police said.

Jyoti, a 23-year-old government school teacher in Delhi, was travelling on a motorcycle with her lover Deepak from the national capital to Dadri.

MADURAI: In a suspected case of honour killing, Rengasamy, a tractor mechanic, unable to tolerate the activities of his eighteen-year-old daughter, murdered her with the help of his relatives.

The girl living in Ramanathan Street at S S Colony, used to frequently converse with her boy friends over mobile phone.

To put an end to continuous talk, Rengasamy, suspecting that she was having affairs with several boys, sent her to a relative’s house in Chennai to continue her education.

A teenager found buried underground two months ago in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır was killed by her brother as part of a decision to cleanse her family’s “honor,” reports from the city yesterday said.
The body of 15-year-old Ş.G. was found buried on June 24, in Diyarbakır’s Kayapınar district. An investigation into the circumstances of her death launched by the Diyarbakır Prosecutor’s Office has been concluded, and an indictment was submitted to a court yesterday.

ERBIL-Hewlêr, Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — After she was accused of sleeping with a man, the 16-yeard old Payman Khalil was threatened to death by her father and other family members about three months ago. Since then the woman has controversially become disappeared.

Her father Khalil Jalal says that Payman escaped the house as soon as she had received the threats.

The police of the Dibaga, a town disputed between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Central Government of Baghdad, has yet to make any investigation into the case.

Honour killing of youth; bail plea of two accused dismissed

New Delhi, Aug 20 (PTI) A Delhi court has dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of two persons accused of burning a youth who had married their sister after eloping with her nearly seven months ago. "Considering the serious nature of allegations, at this stage, no case is made out to grant anticipatory bail to accused Neeraj and Sonu," Additional Sessions Judge Sarita Birbal said. Victim Rajesh Negi, who secretly married neighbour Bhavna on January 14 this year, was burnt alive by Neeraj, Sonu, brothers of the girl, and an unidentified person on the evening of August two here, the FIR alleged.

HARAPPA: In another incident of honour killing, a man, Mohammad Rafiq, strangled his elder sister, Anwar Bibi, to death, over suspicions about her character, in Chak No 59/DG within the precincts of Bahadur Shah Police Station on Thursday, the Express News reported Friday.

The Police have arrested the culprit.

Father kills daughter, lover in Punjab village

In yet another suspected case of honour killing, a man shot dead his daughter and her lover Thursday at Chandpurana village in this Punjab district, police said.

According to the police, the deceased were identified as Lovepreet Kaur, 17, and Harjinder Singh, 22.

“According to the preliminary investigation, it has been revealed that Lovepreet and Harjinder were seeing each other for the last many months. At around 1 a.m. Thursday, Harjinder went to Lovepreet's house to meet her,” Partap Singh, a police officer, told IANS.
